Dr. Kirk T. Houston, Sr. Earns Martin Luther King, Jr. Recognition Award
Tidewater Community College recognizes Dr. Kirk T. Houston, Sr., founder and chair of the Garden of Hope, Inc. with the 2013 Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Community Distinguished Service Award
He along with other honorees Michelle Woodhouse (College Distinguish Service Award) and Antonina Pashchuk (Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Scholarship Award) were recognized on Monday, Feb. 18, 2013, at the Roper Performing Arts Center in Norfolk, Va.
Since its inception in 1998, Tidewater Community College Martin Luther King Jr. Recognition Program has provided an opportunity to reflect upon Dr. King’s legacy and its profound effect on American life. It has also serves as an occasion to honor individuals whose lives best exemplify Dr. Kings visionary philosophy.
